BACP Inc., formerly known as Bay Area Cinema Products and founded by Sam Chavez, is a longtime industry leader as both a manufacturer of cinema products and accessories, as well as full-line Sound and Projection equipment dealer specializing in equipping screening rooms and Post-Production facilities.

Kevin DeRijck and Rick Long of Cinematronix, and Danny Pickett acquired Bay Area Cinema Products in 2023. Danny Pickett, Kevin DeRijck and Rick Long are honored to carry on the legacy of Sam Chavez.

Danny Pickett has over 35 years of experience in the cinema industry.  He started as an usher for AMC Theatres working his way to projectionist, become the studio liaison for all studio screenings at AMC in Southern California. He was hired by THX/LucasFilm as a technician, traveling the globe performing theatre certification. He moved into digital mastering for THX/LucasFilm supervising the restoration for Disney, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, and other studios. He was hired by 20th Century Fox in 1999 to head up their new DVD/audio mastering department. Danny oversaw the remastering of 20th Century Fox’s entire film library. This gave him the audio background he needed when he decided to shift gears and sell audio equipment. He was Director of Global Cinema for QSC for 15 years installing equipment in movie theatres around the world, postproduction facilities and high-end homes. At QSC, Danny was very involved in the development and design of the loudspeakers and amplifiers. Today, as owner of BACP, Inc., Danny continues to bring his vast audio knowledge and experience to the industry.

Kevin DeRijck brings over 30 years of experience in cinema sales, service & exhibition to the BACP Team. Cinematronix is Canada’s largest Cinema Dealer & Integrator servicing over 2000 screens across Canada on a daily basis. In 2017 Kevin acquired majority interest in Cinematronix from Kevin Eagle, and as CEO and Principal Owner at Cinematronix Kevin has led the team of Technical Managers, Technicians, and support staff at Cinematronix for the past 8 years. Prior to his current role, Kevin was Vice President of Sales for Cinematronix where he focused on the rollout of digital projectors & servers in their customers transition to digital from film. Kevin started his career in cinema exhibition in the early 1990’s, eventually holding Regional Director of Operations roles at Cineplex Entertainment & Famous Players Theatres before joining Cinematronix.

With over 40 years experience in cinema technology, Rick Long has extensive knowledge in all film projection and sound formats, including Digital Cinema. Having had a hand in thousands of cinema installations and upgrades, including well over 1300 D-Cinema installations, Rick has the knowledge and experience to get the job done right the first time. He started out very young, helping his father on various sound service calls, and with his grandfather installing field speakers at the Drive-In each year. Rick went on to work with his Father full time at Best Theatre Supply in 1985 as a Cinema Service Technician. Then over to Cinematronix, where he’s been since 2002, now as their VP of Technical Services. Rick is a Certified Installer for all D-Cinema brands, as well as having attended many audio training courses over the years, including Dolby Atmos Room Design and Commissioning.
